The Program
The International PDS in Santiago, Chile (IPDS Chile) enables teacher candidates and faculty members from Buffalo State and Universidad Mayor to learn from each other educational practices considered exemplary in their respective cultures.
IPDS Chile is a 3-credit spring semester course that includes 3 weeks abroad in May/June. While abroad, participants participate in a Spanish language learning in an immersion program, collaboration with teacher candidates and faculty at Universidad Mayor, engage in field experiences working with teachers and children at local schools, and enjoy excursions to coastal cities on the Pacific Ocean, hiking to the Andes Mountains, and historical/cultural sites in the city of Santiago. Participants also experience genuine Chilean life and culture while living with host families. |
The Participants
As they transition through the various adventures of their teach & study abroad experience, participants share moments, visions, and thoughts through journal entries and photographs. Read about each participant's adventures and perceptions on their individual blog pages. Share your comments, questions, and supportive words as you peruse, and stop back often!
IPDS Chile is open to all Buffalo State currently enrolled students who have been accepted into any education program. Visit the Buffalo State IPDS program page for application deadlines and information.
