Last Friday was one of the coolest days of my life! I am so glad I went horse back riding! We drove about an hour to get to the Andes mountains where we picked our horses and started up it. The horses were great and super easy to ride. The view was incredible the whole entire way up. Some parts got pretty step and at first it made me nervous that the horses speed up, but it ended up being the most fun part!
We got to the top of the mountain just as the sun was starting to set. There they had a fire, table and barbecue all set up for us. It was amazing and I have never seen anything like it. We stood by the fire and warmed up as we watched the sun set over the mountains, every time I looked back up the sky and mountains had completely changed colors, it was magical. Then we had dinner by candle light accompanied with some of the best wine I have ever had. There was SO much food and it was all delicious. After we were done eating it was time to go back down the mountain. But it was already pitch black. I was a little nervous but the horses were pros and knew exactly what they were doing. I am so extremely glad I ended up doing this excursion. I almost didn’t because I have had not gray experiences with horses in the past and they just make me a little anxious. However I knew this was a once in a lifetime opportunity so I pushed myself to just do it! That is one thing I’ve learned a few times this trip: You’ll never regret pushing yourself outside your comfort zone. Even going on this trip to begin with was outside my comfort zone. Going away for the longest I’ve ever been from home with no family or friends (although I made plenty along the way!!) This trip has been the experience of a lifetime and I am so sad to be heading home right now! Can’t wait for my next adventure and to push myself even more!

I am very excited to start my 3rd (and last :/) week at ECELA. I feel like I have improved in my Spanish so much since starting there 2 weeks ago. Even though I have been taking Spanish pretty much since I was in 7th grade, I never was able to put it into practice and speak as much as I am able to at ECELA. The fact that I am forced to speak it as much as possible is exactly what I needed.
