"Every story has an end, but in life every end is just a new beginning." -Dakota Fanning
On May 13th 2017, I graduated from Buffalo State College with a B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology. Who knew three years would go by so fast! This is a great achievement and I am very proud of myself. The next chapter of my life is just beginning and the best is yet to come.
I am grateful that I have the opportunity to be a part of this service-learning experience in Santiago, Chile. This trip is important to me because it will be the start of my career. My group and I will be conducting research that explores whether interactive read alouds using children’s literature can be effective in Chilean classrooms. I enjoyed creating activities and lesson plans for the first time. I am excited to collaborate and meet with the teachers and the children to develop a better understanding of English-language learners. I hope to be inclusive and empowering when collaborating with the teachers, peers, and children. I am thrilled that I get to learn from a diverse group of people at a team level as well as an individual level. Overall, in each and every moment of my trip, I plan to stay positive, open-minded, and optimistic when contributing to my personal and professional environment.
Don’t miss out follow me on my journey!
