As I begin this journey with nothing more than a pad of paper and my favorite precision pen, I can't help but feel excited, terrified, and humbled. Three pretty different feelings, huh? Imagine how my mind feels.
12 days, 12 days, 12 days.
12 days until I embark on my next big adventure, Chile. For the first time in my life, I will bring the teaching techniques and strategies that I have learned over the past 4 years and enrich the lives of English Language Learners in the city of Santiago.
For those of you who don't know, I'll be extending this ever so wonderful winter we have had as I depart the United States; Chile is now entering winter. Though I am excited and relieved that Chilean winters won't force me to trudge through the snow as I do here, I'm not looking forward to breaking back open the boxes that have my sweaters and scarves packed away.
As this last week of student teaching comes to a close and graduation is nearly hours away
(113 hours if you're a countdown freak like me),
I'm starting to let the vulnerabilities and insecurities that have haunted
my mind for so many months finally disappear... I've made it.
So, let this be the start of something. Let this be an open door that I enter with confidence,
poise and a Chelsea smile :) I hope you all enjoy following me on this wonderful journey, I'll
try to post as many fun pictures (of food) and all of my other experiences.
With love, always.
